As was diaried earlier tonight (or yesterday, as the clock would have it) live by joel3000 & commenters and afterward by Magnifico, Mexican President Vicente Fox was blocked from delivering his final "State of the Union" speech at the Mexican Congress when liberal party PRD members (joined by others) refused to leave the podium until the executive's "state of seige" on the Legislature was lifted.
I present below a powerful, very well written essay from a Mexican blog (originally in Spanish) which addresses this view so beloved on the right, that the Civil Resistance in Mexico is, literally, crazy. I don't normally spend this much time translating if I didn't think it was worth it. It's one of the best political essays I've read in a long time.
